The stylish, portable OWL energy monitor provides instant, up to date information on the exact amount of electricity you are using at that particular moment in time. This means you are able to gain a better understanding of which electrical appliances are costing the most to run and show you the financial gain of turning off each device. Increasing your homes energy consumption knowledge has been known to result in savings of hundreds of pounds off your electricity bill!

Now with the new accumulative function you are able to view energy costs and consumption over a certain time period (days, weeks or months). Tracking energy savings in this way will help fine tune and keep you motivated on your energy saving strategy!

Another new feature for the Owl electricity monitor is the multiple tariff function which will help create an even more accurate picture of your electricity costs. Improved battery life now provides up to a 24 month battery life expectancy for the transmitter and 12 months for the portable display.

Locate electricity meter

Locate electricity meter and identify live supply cable.

Locate LIVE wire

The hinged clip on the sensor is designed to clip around the LIVE insulated power supply cable coming from the electricity meter to the consumer unit (fuse box).

Insert batteries into sender box

Unscrew backing plate on the sender box and install batteries provided.

Plug sensor cable Jack Plug into any one of the sockets located at the bottom of the sender unit.

Insert batteries into remote monitor

Install the batteries into the remote monitor.

(Note: The remote monitor may not connect to and lock with the sender box if the batteries are not installed into the sender box before the remote monitor).

Ready to view energy consumption

Please refer to the user manual to customise settings.

As the remote monitor is portable you are able to display anywhere in your house.
More About the wireless OWL Energy Monitor

The OWL power saving monitor receives and displays data on a large, easy to read display. The signal received from the sender box transmits wireless beams of data to the remote monitor (works through walls up to 30m range). The sensor box takes readings from your mains as it is attached to a sensor which clips onto your mains supply cable and as the monitor is run from batteries it won't eat into your electricity supply.

Not only are you able to educate yourself on electricity costs per hour in dollars, pounds or Euros, you can also keep up to date with other functions such as greenhouse gas emissions, total household electricity consumption and temperature/humidity readings.

All signals are received using 'phase' current transformer sensing technology to detect and monitor the magnetic field around your household electricity cable. It measures the amps being used and, by reference to the system voltage, calculates the amount of power being used, the cost and the amount of greenhouse gas emissions.

The original was faulty but was replaced without question and since then has been entirely satisfactory delivering extremely helpful data on our energy consumption and costs. A great prompt to switch off the lights and turn down the heater!

The Owl Energy Monitor: Arrived quickly to France in spite of a postal strike and was well packaged; Instructions good and easilly set up. It does what it is supposed to do well and I can't fault it. I have started saving because I identified appliances which could be switched off without making any difference.

This product is useful and really good fun (OK, I'm not known for my cutting edge sense of humour). At last, I can work out whether it's worth making my own bread or whether the planet is better off if I buy it from the Co-Op down the road.

Two very slight teething probs:
- none of my extensive collection of Phillips screwdrivers could easily open the battery chamber on the sender - a bit frustrating when I was itching to get my new device up and running
- when the sender and receiver lost contact one day, it took me a while to work out ithey didn't like using Channel 2 anymore and I had to change to Channel 3
But these are very trivial issues - it's a triumph and I've recommended it to loads of other people. (When are they going to produce something which covers gas as well?)

Great product, saved me £50 in 48hrs found why my electricity usage had gone up. The EPS power saver EPS 188 was using 200 Watts extra per hr and was returned to the supplier. Even the kids like to see what a difference switching something off makes.

Excellent piece of kit and very good value. Easy to install, (it even comes with batteries) and to programme, it has now been telling us our household electrical usage for nine days. Simply by knowing how much each appliance is costing us and by using these more sensibly we have already saved money. It will definitely have paid for itself by the end of the quarter. Try it - you'll be gobsmacked as you carry it around your house and switch things on and off!

I was slightly nervous of how difficult it might be to install the Owl, but it really was simple and we were up and running in a short time. It is amazing to see the readout as you use different devices around the house. The Owl is a great eye-opener, and brings home the cost of boiling a kettle far better than any Government advert can do. You may not be able to reduce the cost of everything you use, but the increased awareness is a good thing.

This product has completely exceeded my expectations. A visual reading of electricity consumption is a great way of demonstrating just HOW MUCH money is being used - indisputable evidence for use with recalcitrant teenagers!!

Brilliant piece of kit! Monitors all the electricity usage in real time and shows the actual energy usage of all domestic appliances. Very easy to set up and very accurate in its measurements! Get one!

I found the OWL to be an extremely useful tool for understanding the actual energy used in my home. This has made me aware of how much power each electrical device uses. I was quite shocked to find out how much electricity my halogen spot lights used (lots). Since buying the OWL I have gone on to purchase more energy saving products. I have been able to see first hand the actual power saved. I highly recommend this product.
