Wind Trap Featured on Newsnight
21 Mar 2006
Lights, Camera, Action!
A great opportunity arose soon after the initial launch of Wind Trap as we were invited to appear on Newsnight to discuss the benefits of generating your own electrical power. Definitely an opportunity that could not be missed, so we promptly got everything together and began trials of erecting our home wind turbine kit before setting off down to London.
As Featured on NewsNight!
Wind Trap travel to London to feature as part of Newsnight's ethical man programme.

Getting Ready

Dry Run
We thought it best not to feel the full wrath of Jeremy Paxman and do a dry run first to make sure that we didn't leave anything chance on the day.

Outstanding in our Field
David and "Spike" get to work erecting the kit..... meanwhile, Matt takes the pictures.

Let's get things straight
David ensures that the mounting kit is straight... which is a lot harder than it looks in lumpy field.

Almost Finished
The last peg goes in just as things are just about to start getting dark and the camera's battery light comes on.

And we're done
After a little over 1 hour we've finally completed the kit....let's hope it's as easy for Justin from Newsnight in the morning!
On the Day

Lights, camera, action!
It all get a bit nerve-wracking one the cameras get set up.

Finished
Justin manges to erect the system in record time... unfortunatley there's no wind and the turbine refuses to turn at all!!!

How big is it?
We're often asked how big our systems are... this should give you an idea of the scale.

Electrisave
Inside Justin's house there was a great bit of kit for monitoring electricity usage. It's a live, wireless system that we now feature. See more about the Electrisave.

Statue of liberty
Justin poses for a few shots for the local paper.

Interview
Justin gets interviewed by the journalist... hopefully he's remembered to mention www.windtrap.co.uk. haha.

...and there was light
Justin agrees to let us take a few shots of him for the website.

One Last Shot
We get one last group shot before our long drive home....If only it had been windy!!
On Air

Turbine
Justin gets his hands on the turbine.

One hour later
Less than one hour later (and with a little help) Justin has fully erected the kit.

Interview
Now it's time for the interview bit... Thankfully Justin takes it easy...thank god it wasn't Paxman!!
